For this summer sportswear brand Nike presents Cadência, a new Brazilian documentary by Bantam Films. The film gives an insight to the city’s communities and the unifying effect of sport. The movie will be on show from 25th March – 25th April at Rich Mix cinema in East London.
Cadência is a picture of Rio’s sport and culture, the film explores the country’s ‘cadence’, its rhythm, and the true spirit of Brazil. It sets out to articulate the ambiguous essence of Rio de Janeiro’s symbolic identity through its people, passions and traditions. Exploring the underground phenomena of traditional kite culture, the masquerade of Clovis and of course, football. The film features commentary from academics, artists, and footballers.
Nike has been involved with the Brazilian national football team since 1998 and this activity celebrates this partnership. With almost four decades of sport history at its foundation, Nike Sportswear channels the rebel spirit of Nike’s roots by crafting products that challenge the expected and push athletic innovation to its extreme.
